My clients often come to therapy with a deep sense of disconnection from themselves, even when they seem outwardly confident and successful. Oftentimes, our well-being is overshadowed by a profound sense of shame -- rooted in complex trauma, having too much on our shoulders, or existential unease about our place in the world. I offer unwavering support as clients begin to untangle and repair the things that led them to seek help.
As a relational and somatically oriented therapist, I specialize in addressing trauma, navigating challenging family dynamics, and exploring existential issues. I also take a special interest in working with young adults who have experienced boundary violations or who identify as "non-confrontational." I work with clients to understand what is happening neurologically when they shut down, and offer practical solutions to use to change this at a pace that works for them. I recognize how difficult change can be and offer a kind approach in working alongside clients to increase their capacity towards creating and experiencing more joy or alignment in their lives.
While my speciality is in treating trauma spectrum disorders (PTSD, CPTSD, acute stress disorders), I also work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, spiritual crises, integration of psychedelic experiences, or other major life changes. My practice is grounded in evidence based models. I offer a unique integration of top down therapies (working with thought patterns) with bottom up approaches (addressing physical stress responses) to assist my clients in finding regulation from a multiple lens framework.

Additionally, If you are a therapist who is looking for more support in developing a stronger footing in professional identity and clinical skills (around integrating somatic and top down therapeutic treatments), please see current offerings for our low cost mentorship program. This program seeks to address the unique challenges that therapists face when entering the field and aims to provide a safe community to grow with.

*Please note that Luminary Therapy does not offer psychedelic assisted psychotherapy or provide referrals for this service as these medicines are not approved for legal use. While there are clinical studies looking into these treatments for mental health purposes, the FDA has not approved and regulatory bodies have not scheduled these medicines. Luminary Therapy works from a harm reduction lens and assists clients in discussing these complex matters and/or integrating past experiences (challenging or expansive).
